I feel like Ive been properly worked this morning: back stretched, shins
aching, ankles wrenched, feet blistered on top from the footstraps, hands
are red but intact - all the symptoms of a fully powered, challenging Hove
session yesterday afternoon. It was like a skate park out there, 4.5m sail
and waveboard, with ramps and bumps everywhere. Lots of chop, hence the
sore ankles, but clean swell making it through from 2 foot to head high
faces. Any one wave might involve a downwind carve, hit the section, crank
it up wind again, roll the board round into another section coming at you
from the upwind direction, hit that, back into the trough and so on. It
needed to be bigger to really start breaking down the line properly, but
you could spot the ones that were going to stretch and steepen up. Good
for jumps too, with the slight onshore direction making it easier to go
big. Excellent session.
